This fall, The Annex is celebrating the art and practice of artist Romare Bearden with programming inspired by his collage, Two Women with Child, ca. 1973. Columbus-based artist and muralist Raeghan Buchanan will lead this workshop in making a collaborative mural. Buchanan cites Bearden as an artist who inspires her own practice. Storytelling is a major part of Bearden’s work, and an influence on Buchanan as a way to represent and celebrate community. In this workshop, each participant will learn to use spray paint to apply stencils, and have the opportunity to learn more from Buchanan about Romare Bearden and his artwork.
