In collaboration with Independent Curators International (ICI), the Gund Gallery presents do it, an exhibition conceived by curator Hans Ulrich Obrist during a 1993 conversation with artists Christian Boltanski and Bertrand Lavier about an exhibition that would constantly produce new versions of itself. Over the past twenty years Obrist has collected more than 200 artist instructions and 50 productions of do it have taken place around the world. At each venue different selections of works are interpreted, produced and presented.
On the 20th anniversary of do it, the Gund Gallery and its many Kenyon College collaborators look forward to sharing new interpretations of the work of Etel Adnan, Louise Bourgeois, Mircea Cantor, Douglas Coupland, Meg Cranston ‘82, Tracey Emin, Gilbert and George, Simryn Gill, Leon Golub, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Shere Hite, Ilya Kabakov, Alison Knowles, Suzanne Lacy, Adriana Lara, Sol Lewitt, David Lynch, Christian Marclay, Annette Messager, Bruce Nauman, Yoko Ono, Nicolás Paris, Amalia Pica, Cesare Pietroiusti, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Pedro Reyes, Adrián Villar Rojas, and Erwin Wurm.
