Jasmine Gibson to be Spring 2025 Artist Fellow at The Annex
The Annex Welcomes Jasmin Gibson as the Next Fellow
We are delighted to announce that writer and poet Jasmine Gibson will be joining The Annex, an Art Initiative of The Gund at Kenyon College as our next fellow! Following in the footsteps of artists Carly Glovinski and Marcus Morris, Jasmine will bring her perspective on storytelling, writing, and community engagement, drawing inspiration from Faith Ringgold’s quilt Dancing at the Louvre (1991) in The Gund’s collection. As part of her fellowship, Jasmine will develop public programs, writing projects, and cross-disciplinary explorations that invite new ways of thinking about art, identity, and representation.
Public Program Series (Monthly) – Jasmine will lead interactive programs at The Annex and on campus inspired by Faith Ringgold’s quilt, engaging the community in conversations that blend visual art, storytelling, and poetry. Special guests will enhance these sessions, expanding their impact.
Curatorially-driven Writing Projects – Collaborating with the David and Francie Horvitz Family Foundation Director and Chief Curator Daisy Desrosiers and the Pamela and Christopher Hoehn-Saric Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and Education Dr. Jodi Kovach, Jasmine will contribute poetic reflections on newly donated artworks to our permanent collection, helping reinterpret traditional museum language and shape the first public presentation of these works next Fall in our galleries.
Cross-Disciplinary Exploration – Jasmine will explore identity, representation, and narrative in creative writing through a poet's lens. Her writing will inform gallery guides, online materials, and exhibitions.
We can’t wait to see how Jasmine’s voice and vision shape this next chapter at The Annex! Stay tuned for upcoming programs and ways to get involved.
